Chasing Pac Gold web

The Lady Dukes had just 2 games remaining in the conference going into last nights match against Firelands. The girls would have to win them both to be crowned PAC champs. With Firelands trailing the Lady Dukes in the conference standings by just one game, the girls knew they were in for a tough game. About 15 minutes into the game the girls got a goal from Emma Horoschak who headed a high bouncing pass from Grace Dudziak up and over the Falcon’s goalie. The remaining 65 minutes of play went scoreless but not without excitement. The Falcons and Lady Dukes both had shots at the goal that were blocked or missed. Stellar defense by the Lady Duke’s Micah Smiley, Faith Alley, Jenna Calfo, and Jill Laposky along with goalie Mak Moore kept the girls ahead of the competition. The girls have only allowed 3 goals in the conference all year. As the final seconds ticked away the Lady Dukes drew nearer to their PAC championship goal, winning 1-0. The girls will play again Saturday at 10 AM against Brookside in their final game of the season for the conference title. Go Lady Dukes!
