The Lady Dukes played at Keystone Saturday January 5th. The girls were faced with some adversity going into the game missing 2018’s PAC player of the year Alexis Lehmkuhl. Having to adjust without their normal lineup the girls got off to a slow start. Keystone fired away from the 3 point line putting the Lady Dukes in unfamiliar territory being down early. The Wildcats were up 17-4 in the second quarter when finally the girls started to feel comfortable. The girls looked to Jalen Gibbs to get them started scoring but it was the full court press of the Lady Dukes that got them back into the game. They out scored Keystone in the second quarter and rallied within 2 points at halftime. In the third quarter the Lady Dukes began to take control of the game. Two timely shots by Grace Dudziak kept the Lady Dukes in rhythm when we seemed to not be able to score and then a big three point basket by Amanda Spiekerman gave the girls the lead and they controlled the rest of the way. Jalen Gibbs led the girls with 20 points and Lexi Wright and Erin Frenk pitched in 13 and 6 points. The Lady Dukes won 50-42.
They will play again against undefeated Buckeye Wednesday at Buckeye. Go Lady Dukes!
