Dukes News · Baseball Cuts 8 Run Deficit For Comeback Win Over Clippers

The Dukes baseball team hosted Clearview last night at the Wellington Rec Park. It was early in the game that the Dukes found themselves down 8-0 in the third inning. Having nothing going for them from the plate the Dukes needed to find some gaps in the defense and fast. Hits from Drew Unangst, Cam Brinker and Caleb Teague propelled a 6 run inning for the boys. Jacob Evans had came into the game as a relief pitcher and shut down the Clearview offense. Evans  held the Clippers to 3 scoreless innings and gave the Dukes the chance to get back into the game. Ben Higgins drove in another run in the 5th to draw  within one run of the lead but it was Jacob Evans  that would help his own cause in the 6th inning to give the Dukes the lead. Evans found a gap in between shortstop and third base that drove in the leading run and the Dukes wouldn’t lose the lead. The final score of the game was 10-9. The Dukes are now 4-0 in the PAC.
